On my blog, you will undoubtedly read the words Self Care until your eyes go crossed! Why do I focus so much on self-care? Because I know as mothers we will give and give and give until there's nothing left. The other thing I know is that as important as self-care is, there's also that little detail called time! So before I get into it I want to define the 5 Aspects Of Self-Care which are; Physical, Emotional, Social, Intellectual and Spiritual. Now that you know what they are let's talk about how to achieve them on a daily basis! Wait! Did you say daily? Why yes, yes I did! I want to help you find your own personal happy place right in your own home and make it a habit to visit there regularly. By taking some much-needed self-care time in the bath or shower, it becomes less of a leap when you need it the most and that it is something you can achieve in just 5 minutes a day! First, let's start with physical, and starting the habit of getting to your happy place daily. Never before becoming a mom did I think that my bathroom would become my place of refuge. A husband, 3 kids, 11 chickens and 1 cat later I am now rethinking that completely. Once you are there you can use that big mirror in front of you for step two. Emotional! Look directly into that mirror and repeat after me, "I love myself", again and say it like you mean it this time "I love myself"! There you go, now I am starting to believe you. Did you forget that incredible vessel of yours grew a human!?! Wow! That's worth giving yourself a major high 5! Number 3 is where it gets a little tricky. How can you be social from your own home in just 5 minutes a day? Well, I am so glad you asked. Pop open your browser and check our latest posts on Instagram or Facebook @caingcoconut. Since I know you don't have a lot of time I promise to always post something informational or uplifting. Back to an easy one now, intellectual. You are already making positive steps towards growing your knowledge base just by reading this. The fact that you are looking at clean ingredient skincare and reading about self-care means you are staying informed about the topics that matter to you. Last, but certainly never least is the spiritual aspect. Because our time together is almost up it's time to say a little prayer before opening that bathroom door back up. Father, I come to you today tired and weary, I ask that you would restore all five areas of my self-care so that I may live a life filled with the fruits of the Spirit; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Amen. Well, that's it! I hope you enjoyed reading the blog today. Until next time take care of yourself!
